It’s been over three years since I last wrote on this blog. I considered deleting it multiple times, but then I would hold off for the hope that I could one day go back to writing just for fun.
In the time that has passed, I got married to my wonderful partner Jason, we got a dog and named her Aspen, we moved to Colorado, and we have traveled quite a bit.
The most significant developments during the last three years were that I got my masters in communication and started a PhD program. I have written a lot in that time, including a masters thesis (which you can find here if you want a very long read) and several academic papers. However, that writing is dense and weighed down by the pressure of academic performance.
I miss writing for writing’s sake.
So here I am. Again.
I can’t promise consistency in any form. But I hope to share the occasional thought, inspiration, or insight from my new life in the academic realm. I renamed the blog “Communication Meditations” to represent my primary focus of study (communication) and to signify the more reflexive nature of what I will write here (meditations). You can expect some content similar to my old stuff on faith, travel, and culture, as well as new content about life in academia and what I’m learning along the way.
Mostly this will be a hodge podge space for all the thoughts I can’t put into an academic article but that need to get out of my head. And there are plenty of those to last us awhile. Stay tuned.
Good to have you back! I’m so proud of all you have accomplished!
Thanks!
